BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS

A variety of childcare programs are offered by the Morton Grove Park District in local schools. Children in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade are eligible to participate. Certain programs may not be available to all children based on school schedules or locations. Enrollment requires a Parental Authorization Form be filled out and registration can only be taken in person at the Prairie View Community Center.

BASE Employees

  • Background checks are conducted on all of our employees
  • Staff is fully trained by the park District to work with young children.
  • All staff on site have been trained in both CPR and First Aid.
  • We hire both male and female team members and leaders.
  • The BASE and B-4 staff are made up of a variety of individuals ranging in age from College to Senior citizens.
B-4 School

This program is offered as a quiet way to start your child’s school day. Activities include board games, cards, art & crafts and light sports activity. Program meets from 7:00am until the 1st (all) school bell. A cereal breakfast is offered if child arrives within ½ hour of program dismissal. The B-4 school program takes place at the following locations:

District #63: Prairie View Community Center (includes bus transportation to home school)
District #67: Hynes School
District #70: Park View School

 

B.A.S.E. Program (Best After School Experience)

The BASE program is an afterschool childcare and enrichment program that is available to children in the schools listed below. The program runs from the end of the school day until 6:00pm. The program creates a positive environment which allows children to freely express themselves in a safe and nurturing environment. Centers of activity include an assortment of physical activities, arts & crafts, dramatic, literary, math and science centers. A snack and homework help is provided daily.

District #67: Hynes School/Golf Middle School
District #70: Park View School

 

Kinder-Odyssey Program

This program offers a Kindergarten enrichment and childcare program to stretch your child’s day to accommodate current ½ day program schedules. This program is designed to dovetail with either the B-4 school program or BASE program depending on schedules and locations. Curriculum is appropriate for Kindergarten learning and includes special emphasis in a variety of areas including, reading, writing, mathematics and science. Children should bring a lunch daily. Please note that this program is offered based on a minimum enrollment of 12 children and classes are limited to school classroom availability. This program is currently available at the following locations:

District #63:  Prairie View Community Center (includes bus transportation to home school), 9:00am-12:45pm (Available for Afternoon Kindergarten children only)
District #70:  Park View School, 11:45am-3:15pm Available to Morning Kindergarten children only)

 

BA.S.E. AND B-4 SCHOOL FLEX PASS

Our Flex Pass is the perfect solution for your last minute childcare needs! These passes can be used anytime throughout the current school year. A simple punch card that is good for one visit per child per day. Passes will be kept on site and marked off by site staff. Note: Some exceptions apply.

B-4 School Flex Pass (10 visits)
District 67 & 70:  $58.00
District 63:  $79.00 (includes Bus transportation)

B.A.S.E Flex Pass (5 visits)
District 67 & 70:  $58.00

 

Early Release Days

The Park District will offer extended day programs (until 6:00pm) for most days that District 67 & District 70 schools offer an Early Release Program.  Programs take place in the locations listed and require an additional fee to participate. The Early Release Program fee is not included in the regular BASE or B-4 School rates.  Registration deadline is 2 days prior to early release day.

 

Gap Days

The Park District offers childcare for days that schools are off for major holidays,Winter and Spring Camps. Winter and Spring Camp dates are set according to the periods set by the majority of schools within the districts listed. GAP days take place at the Prairie View Community Center and take place from 7:00am-6:00pm. The majority of days include either a special event or field trip. Children are engaged in a variety of recreational opportunities including gym/outside time, arts & crafts games etc.  There is an additional fee to participate in these programs and registration deadlines do apply. Please check your calendars and register early as these are popular programs that fill quickly.

Payment and Registration

Payment options and fees

You can choose one of the following options for payment:

  • Pay in full at the time of registration
  • Choose to enroll in our payment plan.  A $100.00 refundable deposit is required. Your payments will be spread over a 9-month period from September-May
  • We accept ALL childcare subsidy payments
  • Financial Assistance is available for eligible Morton Grove Residents.
