The Mission

The mission of the Morton Grove Parks Services Department is to maintain our parks and facilities to insure a safe, aesthetically pleasing and fun experience for every patron visit. The parks services staff is very proud of our facilities and parks and is continually striving to make them the best in the north suburbs.

The park services department consists of eleven full time employees and two year round part time employees. We maintain fourteen parks, a community center which includes a fitness center, fourteen ball fields, eight soccer fields, two outdoor pools and bath houses and fourteen playgrounds. Full time staff members are required to have a Certified Pool Operator’s License, pesticide application license and first aid training. A staff Certified Playground Inspector is responsible for keeping the district’s playgrounds up to code and safe for children. Playgrounds are inspected monthly. A parks services staff person is a member of the required park district safety committee.

Departmental duties consist of daily cleaning of all buildings, repairing items that need to be addressed, safety inspections of all facilities and playgrounds, repairing equipment as necessary, dragging and lining ball fields, lining soccer fields, painting interior and exterior of all buildings, concrete work, asphalt patching, picking up and emptying all trash bins, turf care and other services required to support other departments throughout the park district.
