To fund the additional amenities and shelter options the  Morton Grove Park District is set to apply for the Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant July 1, 2019. In the past, the grant programs have provided up to one-half of a project’s funds, and when combined with the investment of local matching funds will support local park development projects and land acquisitions statewide. This grant offered through the state’s OSLAD program, administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).

Three possible outcomes to occur;

– The state does not allocate the funds for 2020 OSLAD Grant program.
The playground will be renovated; however, amenities will not be a part of the park renovation

– The OSLAD Grant program offered, Austin Park Project not selected
The playground will be renovated; however, amenities will not be a part of the park renovation

– Austin Park Project selected as a recipient of the grant
The playground will be renovated with the addition chosen amenities.
