Morton Grove Park District

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

As we monitor the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) daily and follow the recommendations of the Cook County Health Department, the safety of our patrons, participants, and staff is our top priority. Due to the increased uncertainty, it is in the best interest of the community to not have large gatherings or programs at the Fieldhouses, Club Fitness, Oriole Palm Room, Prairie View Community Center, or any other Morton Grove Park District facilities.

As you know, this is a rapidly changing situation, and we are continuously assessing best practices for keeping our patrons, staff, and families safe.

First and foremost, there are NO reported cases of the Coronavirus currently at our district.

However, out of an abundance of caution, and following the school district closings, beginning, March 14, 2020, all Morton Grove Park District programs will be canceled, and all facilities including the Prairie View Community Center, Oketo Fieldhouse, Mansfield Fieldhouse, Austin Fieldhouse, and National Fieldhouse will be closed for the next two weeks. Please note: Prairie View Community Center, Austin Fieldhouse, Mansfield Fieldhouse, National Fieldhouse, and Oketo Fieldhouse will be open on March 17 for voting only.

We plan to re-open the facilities on Monday, March 30. We will continuously re-evaluate the situation and inform the community of any updates or changes to the decisions made.

We recognize the seriousness of the potential spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in our community. Help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases by following the Center for Disease Control’s tips by staying home if sick; avoiding close contact with people who are sick; covering coughs and sneezes; avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth; and washing hands with soap and water.
