Update of Vaccine Requirement

Morton Grove, Illinois (January 1, 2021) — The Morton Grove Park District is updating its vaccine requirement after receiving clarification from Cook County on its Mitigation Order 2021-11.

Beginning Monday, January 3, all Morton Grove Park District facilities will be required to check the vaccination status of patrons and program participants, individuals 19 years and older. Only those who are fully-vaccinated will be allowed entry to district facilities. For individuals age 2 and older, masks continue to be required per Mitigation Order 2021-10. This order requires tight knit fabric or medical masks that fit snuggly to cover the nose and the mouth. Face shields and plastic face masks will not be permitted.

Based on CDC guidelines, an individual is considered fully vaccinated:
• Two weeks after their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
• Two weeks after Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
Boosters are not required at this time, but are highly encouraged if eligible. 

Valid Forms of Verification
• Vaccination card
• Photocopy of vaccination card
• Digital record or app
• Printed record from vaccine provider

For all patrons 18 and older:
• Photo ID is also required

Patrons who are medically unable to receive a vaccination will be required to show proof of exemption from a medical provider AND a negative COVID test taken within 24 hours of visiting the facility. Rapid and PCR test results will be accepted, but home tests will not be accepted.

As we implement this change, you may experience wait times for entry and delays. Please plan for additional time to enter and be patient with staff who are verifying vaccination information at entry.
