Events

Teams will consist of one adult and one child. Parents may compete with more than one child. Each team member will get 10 free throws. The team with the highest combined free throw total will win a gift card for a Thanksgiving turkey. Registration is required for each attendee.  Ages 8 and up. Click here to register.

The annual Light Up the Park will illuminate Harrer Park on the evening of December 5, marking the start of the holiday season and the much-awaited arrival of Santa. The air will be filled with joy and excitement as the community gathers for this festive event. On December 5, from 5:00-7:00 pm, make merry with a tractor ride, a family photo opportunity, a performance by the Morton Grove Singers, and more. The tree lighting ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Official Park Lighting will be held at 6:30 pm. You do not need to register for this event. In case of inclement weather, the tree lighting ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 6.

The Morton Grove Days Commission, Morton Grove Park District, and the Village of Morton Grove proudly present this free community event, celebrating the magic of the holiday season. Join us at the Prairie View Community Center! Enjoy family-friendly activities and a special visit from Santa. After meeting Santa, children who received specially marked candy during the Santa Comes to Town parade will be directed to the prize redemption room. Additionally, all visiting children will receive a coloring book and a box of crayons from Santa (one bag per child). Celebrate the season with gingerbread fun! Families will build and decorate their very own gingerbread house with an assortment of candies and goodies. We’ll supply everything you need for your creation. The price is per family and includes one gingerbread house kit plus supplies. Bring a box to transport your finished house. Celebrate the NEW Year at Noon. Bring the kids and join in the festivities including music, entertainment, a balloon drop, and some morning refreshments. Each participant will receive a party hat and noise maker. Parents are free and must stay with their child(ren) throughout the entire event. Children 2 and under are free.
